The next Zoomcatchers Literary Writing Competition is now open for entries!
Established to recognize and encourage creative writing and provide a platform for publication, this literary competition is open to original and previously unpublished short stories in the English language by a writer of any nationality, living anywhere in the world. Writing samples submitted must be from the genres of crimes and mysteries. We accept essay, short story, and novel submissions up to 15 pages in length double-spaced.
Prizes
The winner will receive a $200 cash prize and the chance to see their work published in a future issue of Zoomcatchers Newsletter. The winner will also receive a consultation with a literary agent.

Leticia Gomez, Literary Agent
Leticia Gomez is a Texas-based book/film & television agent who specializes in bringing culturally diverse voices to the forefront. She is the CEO & Founder of Savvy Literary Services which has become an industry leader in championing the work of multicultural authors. She also serves as President of the entertainment division for Ascendant Group, one of the leading branding and marketing firms in the nation. She has had a good number of projects successfully optioned for film and television adaptation. As a literary agent, she has placed close to 200 books with independent and mainstream traditional publishers. Blending her experience as an author, literary, film and television agent and acquisition editor, she is now truly excited to spearhead her own Latino focused book imprint Café con Leche Books.

To enter, submit an original, unpublished essay, short story, or excerpt from a novel written in English in the genres of crimes and mysteries with a maximum of 15 pages, double spaced.

Submissions preferred to be in Microsoft Word.

Entry fee: $20.00 per entry if entered by 12:00 midnight PST on September 30, 2023

There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit. Each submission will require a separate entry form and is subject to a separate entry fee.

Category: Young Adult/Teen submissions must come from writers age 13 - 20 years

Once selected, the winner will be contacted by email or telephone.

Copyright remains with the author but Zoomcatchers reserves the right to be the first to publish or arrange a broadcast of selected works. The right to use the stories to further publicize this award is also retained.
